Pumpkins in the Park: Guide to the race and traffic interruptions on Halloween morning — Ossining Community news

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The annual Pumpkins in the Park 5K falls on Halloween morning this year. The race at Cobbs Hill Park typically draws more than 1,400 people, including runners dressed in full costumes. Saturday s 5K race starts at 9 a.m. on Norris Drive and goes through neighborhoods around Cobbs Hill before returning to the park. There s also a kids half-mile race that starts at 10 a.m. between two huge inflatable cats in the park. The finishing chute is lined with pumpkins, which children can take home after the race. Runners will get a spooky finisher medal, and the race will benefit the Rochester Youth Sports Foundation. While registration has closed, spectators are welcome. Road closures for the race Because of the race, traffic may be limited on Norris Drive, Hillside Drive, Cobbs Hill Drive, westbound onHighland Drive, Monroe Avenue, and northbound on Culver Road on Saturday from 8:45 to 10 a.m. During that time, police will help to control local traffic.
