Prosecution rests in Schenectady teen murder trial — Ossining Technology news

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Prosecutors rested their case in the Raymond Wright Jr. murder trial as the court moved into the next phase. In Schenectady County Court on day seven of testimony, the prosecution rested its case against Raymond Wright Jr., the 18-year-old accused of killing Samantha Humphrey four years ago. Defense attorney Peter Lynch then moved to dismiss all charges, arguing prosecutors had failed to establish every element of the crime. Judge Sypniewski denied that request. The only witness Thursday was New York State Police Investigator Kevin Liebeck, a forensic electronics expert who analyzed data collected from the cell phones of Wright and Humphrey. Lieback testified that data from Wright’s phone included GPS tracking, his route of travel, the number of steps he took that night and changes in elevation. The data covered the evening of Nov. 25, 2022, when Humphrey disappeared. A map prepared by Lieback showed red pins marking where Wright’s phone was locate
